2014 Gaming Post-Mortem Wrap up.
So that’s 2014 over and done with (16 days after everyone else was finished with it) As a year it was unremarkable save for a few unsavory elements of community bullshit. With plenty of good games and a few great ones in it’s roster 2014 was a very by the numbers year.
The new consoles have both enjoyed success, with an ever growing line up of games that’s making their cost worth it (Unless you’re a PC master race sort of person). Even the console wars of the last-gen appear to be behind us, with both systems having clear Pros and Cons. But then again after the whole Liver birds bollocks, any sort of format dispute looks down right pleasant in comparison. Maybe now in the enlightened age of 2015 that sort of thing will be a thing of the past.
So what next? Well writing these daily post-mortems has given me the idea to do more of them. Starting from February I’ll be writing a monthly post-mortem on the month just gone. I’ll be preparing notes and topics during the month itself so hopefully they will be a lot more in depth in terms of news discussion. Hope you’ve enjoyed the series so far, and I look forward to writing more from now on.
