Things I’ve done this Week: Week 25

Listened to a hell of a lot of audiobooks! Seriously, way too many. Hound of the Baskervilles read by Derek Jacobi, Mitchell and Webb Sound and Voodoo Histories by David Aaronovitch. If you want to read a lot but don’t want to read, audiobooks are just grand.

No, I’m not now sponsored by Audible…..Yet.

So what have I been doing then? Well, this week we had the announcement of Far Cry: Primal which looks different enough to those among you who are kind of done with that series. My full thoughts can be found here. Really I’m just positive about this because the Stone Age is not a setting we ever see in games. This probably down to the lack of stuff to do other than hunt and gather, it’s a good thing then that a series whose major gameplay loops include hunting and gathering.

This week also saw the return of the Played Out Podcast with guest Joshua Cauller. This episode had it’s ups and downs because the skype recorder I use kept fucking up so I had to edit around them as best I could. Still it’s worth a listen. Next week’s episode has already been recorded so you’ve got that to look forward to!

As to what I’ve been playing this week it’s mostly been the expansion of Civ:BE and 80 days on my Kindle. Both would take a blog* in itself to talk about so just know that both are pretty great and worth your time.

*Hints at whats coming next week
